Both in my last assignment with JobsAhead and current, I travelled the length and breadth of country interacting with a number of wannabe enterpreneurs. One thing that clearly stands out is the lack of awareness (or the lack of) of the enterpreneurial support system available within the country. Lot of exposure has been provided to the valley with almost no visibility of stuff available in say 51 miles.
May be its a good idea to put together local resources well and increase ground level interaction somehow. TiE Mumbai had put together some events (I went to one recently on mobile marketing), but the participation largely remains confined to same faces.
Hope I will be able to contribute my bit.

Hi Prashant,
Would it be possible to connect with you. Semler is my hero too, and we are trying to do our own little experiment in democracy at vaatsalya (www.vaatsalya.com). Would like to get your thoughts.
Universities are for sure great places to connect with the relevant masses and I have been in touch with a few of them trying to develop developmental programs for students, but a subject like enterpeneurship I guess is too applied to stay confined to Universities.
My recent encounter with one of the top (supposedly) B schools regarding creating a full time enterpreneurship program has been quite dismal. Money making as a concept is not handled in its true beauty at lot of Universities.
I think more than the construct, there is greater need to proliferate enterpreneurship as a “state of mind” and people need to be put to ease about creating wealth for all stakeholders.
My past interactions with Alok on this subject has helped me a lot in understanding the drivers right…………..
May be creating an immersion program and then adopting a few Universities can be a good idea……TiE is a good forum but scale remains an issue and it is still at 30000 ft……. needs a Bapu to walk it through villages…..
The best place in my opinion would be universities, one needs to make them hot beds of entrepreneurship and innovation. Places like TiE are good but in my opinion can’t reach the masses in their current setting.
