This is Mr Subham Das. I am 4yrs experienced in the Domain of Online Tutoring. I have a qualification of BSc(Maths) from Calcutta University, BSc(Information Technology) from Kuvempu University and GNIIT in Software Engineering and a Degree in Business Administration. I have started Online Tutoring in Maths for grades 9 to 12 from December 2006 till date. That was precisely the same time when most other companies has started operations and grown beyond bounds. Said that, i have seen the experimentation put in by various companies to form strategies regarding Operations, Management, Work Process etc. I have also seen them stand tall during recession. Now i propose to start a similar company, for which i am in needs of funds.
This industry provides Online Education to overseas students, using the resources in India. The countries that have been operated so far is the USA and UK. As we know, education is the basic requirement of human being of Modern era. But most of the developed nations lack the proper resources. For example, a teacher in USA charges around $200 per hour for one subject and that too the student has to move to the tutor’s education center and share the class with 20other students. Using the Indian resources, we can provide Online tutoring to these student at a very less cost of $100 - 150 per month of Unlimited tutoring in all the subjects on a one-to-one basis. In this world of turmoil, the parents prefer the student to stay in-house and work with his/her tutor to get the desired knowledge. Also there is an acute shortage of Tutors(specially maths) in the US and most European countries. In short, this business is quite beneficial from the Parent-students point of view as they dont have to pay huge, they dont have to move around, a total solution available from the comfort of their home, and with High broadband penetration in these countries, this business is a set to rise as this company can reach all households and well within their pockets.
The business model is very easy. Hire tutors from India and make the tutors teach the students sitting in USA or Europe. The Accent of the tutors is neutralized to avoid complains. Also with 3G Broadband services,WiMax Broadband services and with a huge surge in the sale of Laptops and Netbooks, the downtime is going to be far less.
We have a number of edge over our competitors because of several reasons. Never was such a company run by a Teacher, only a teacher understands the importance of Student-Teacher Relation and a Teacher’s mindset. None of the companies has identified or worked towards that. Quality of sessions has decreased in most these companies as they treat a fresher and an experienced in the same pay scale, the tutors are unhappy but trained, we can utilize them and so are the students who got the taste of online tutoring, but had to leave because of low quality sessions, we will get to these customers first .
I would like to form a company for Online tutoring. I have all the requisite know-hows of the business but just need funds to get started. The estimated fund required would be around Rs 20 - 300 Lakhs, but as always, the more the capital, the better it is. I am certain that i can make the money double in 4-5yrs.
