The Rural Technology and Business Incubator of IIT Madras (RTBI) has a special focus on business incubation. The aim is to enable, build and support rural-centric businesses, which will scale and in return bring jobs, positively impact some of the social causes, and provide the social and economic bridge that most of this country requires.
That said, none of this is done in a NGO/Social development perspective.
Over the past two years, since the time RTBI was established we have identified and are supporting 13 entrepreneurs, and 5 of them are crossing the 2Cr revenue mark. That would be ample evidence to show that we are looking at high-growth companies from these sectors.
We are looking for an Assistant Incubation Manager who will be reporting to the Current Incubation Manager (Vijay Anand, Founder of Proto.in). The role would be to extend the support that we are currently providing entrepreneurs, build networks to create awareness, and in every way help and nurture these entrepreneurs.
Looking for someone with a strong commitment and drive towards the larger picture of whats happening in the Startup community, one who can piece those puzzles together, has a strong entrepreneurial instinct, and has a career path either to work with entrepreneurs or as a hand-on Venture Capital role in the future. Some experience preferred. Has to be friendly, a solid networker, resourceful, with financial management capabilities and strategic thinking.
