I am happy to announce the first set of startup workshops from August 20th till the 29th in Bangalore. The agenda is here. The objective is to find startups the HeadStart Ventures team can work with from now on. These will also form the pool of companies the fund that we are setting up can potentially invest in. We will also actively promote qualified startups to our industry partners – eight of them will present opportunities, ideas and interest areas on the 20th and 21st.
All startups are welcome to apply but we will select 15-20 startups to attend the camp. Domains our team is strong in are – telecoms/mobility, semiconductors, consumer media, financial services, and healthcare. HeadStart Ventures is not a pure play mentoring organisation and neither it is a venture capital fund. It is a small group of people who will work hands on with startups and will seed invest in selected qualified startups. So, whoever submits proposals to work with us should be open to working with a bigger team of experienced people, be willing to start out small in terms of money and expectations but should not be limited by vision and ambition.
If you have any questions, do send an email to interest@headstart.org.in

@Rakesh
You will be happy to know that almost everyone in our team is an entrepreneur. We are not academic types who ‘talk’ about entrepreneurship.
You should also follow our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/HeadStart-Ventures/117640758255185 where we make announcements about startups we work with.
Also, you said you have attended our bootcamp ?? I could not find your name among attendees – which startup do you work at ? If you criticize someone, atleast be open and honest about who you are.
@Varunesh Kumar @Kallol Borah.
I went for one of their bootcamps where they got some of the so-called wise men of the industry to advise startups. It was another matter that none of them had ever really built a company. Mostly the academic types.
Since these guys dont have any money to even pay for startup camps, let alone to fund startups they took 10,000 bucks from everyone who believed that they are going to get funded. Such is the naivete that exists in the ecosystem.
Beware fellow entrepreneurs.
@Varunesh Kumar : I wrote to you about a couple of startups we are working with and one that has been funded but the email bounced ! When you are so critical of us, atleast leave your real email id behind so that we can clear your mind.
These guys charge startups money to listen to their tittle tattle on your venture.
Most of the people involved are people who are typical angel types who have lots of gyan to offer but nothing in terms of real funding etc.
Kallol though you have given the preferred domains but can you throw a few ideas in each domain.For eg in healthcare it could be a pharma marketing compnay, a IT company in pharma or something else.
Or I invite others to post a flick of their ideas here so that a meet at Headstart would be much more fruitfull.
