This blog is an attempt to bring the Indian venture community closer together. All its constituents, right from the entrepreneurs themselves, venture capital firms, angel funds, lawyers, recruiters, investment bankers, incubation cells — the list goes on.
As an entrepeneur, then as an angel investor and private equity professional, I have felt that despite close alignment of our end goals, there exist vast gaps in our understanding of each other. Gaps which are often responsible for inefficiencies in the system. For example, the entrepreneurs’ collective understanding of what the “hot areas” are might be very different from the investors’ view — venturewoods is a platform to discuss, and not necessarily agree on, those views. This site is an attempt to prevent all of us from being lost in the woods.
The objective of venturewoods is to be an open community without compromising on quality. If you feel that you have thoughts that you want to share, feel free to write in and request an account. In any case, do feel free to comment.

Hi all,
It is nice to learn about this Forum which has also tempted me to add my perspective to some very interesting postings already there.
I believe that there is an urgent case for a more sector-relevant approach to promote entrepreneurship especially for the service sector of India. An increasingly number of organizations and individuals are moving in the service sector and offering service products and add-ons to the Indian and global markets. So how far does the size matter in a service entrepreneurship if at all? Or is it the entrepreneurial will and strategy? I would want readers and others to post their comments on the following two questions:
a. Is service entrepreneurship different from the generic entrepreneurship?
b. With are the critical success factors and approach for service entrepreneurship?
On my part, I am mapping a blueprint for an International Center for Service Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ICSEI) at our business school. The center would play a coordinating role and bring the industry and academia together for promoting service entrepreneurship. Please feel free to ask for a summary presentation and indicate your interest in associating with us towards the culture of service entrepreneurship in India.
All comments, inputs and responses are welcome,

Hello Everyone,
Just came across your site and found it quite exciting. I thought you may be interested in finding out more about how a fellow entrepreneur (from the US) percieves Success. It may be of benefit to you when you consider marketing strategies and tactics. In any event, striving for Success and a life long learning attitude is something shared internationally.
