I’m a little late to the thread…I want to add that teams can both be built and lost…the entrepreneur driving the project needs to be focused on professional management and create a culture of efficiency and innovation. The VC or Angels or advisers needs to also focus on building culture that attracts and retains good people.
Google is a famous example where the “team” came in post funding and that was largely driven by the VCs. Since then Google has gone on to retain and attract good people.
In short it is all about “team”, however in most projects, the all star team does not usually align at the start of the project but rather has to be assembled as the project grows.
